Withdrawal and Refunds

This page explains your statutory right of withdrawal when buying credits, and CANTA's refund rules. CANTA is a service of Deep Blue Dodo LLC. The German version is authoritative for consumers in Germany.

Withdrawal instruction

Right of withdrawal. You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded (the day of your purchase).

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us —

— of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (e.g. an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. You can also exercise your right of withdrawal online at https://canta.lol/withdraw. If you use this online function, we will send you, without undue delay and on a durable medium (e.g. by email), an acknowledgment of receipt with information on the content of your withdrawal declaration and the date and time it was received. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal. If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen days from the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw. We will carry out such reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction (a Stripe reversal to your card), unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

Early lapse of the right of withdrawal. For a contract for the supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, the right of withdrawal lapses if we have begun performance after you have (1) expressly consented to us beginning performance before the end of the withdrawal period, and (2) acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once performance begins (Section 356(6) No. 2 of the German Civil Code, BGB). You give this consent and acknowledgment in the checkout flow. Performance begins when you start the first song generation from the respective purchase. From that moment, the right of withdrawal for that purchase has lapsed. You receive the confirmation of the contract, including your consent, by email on a durable medium (Section 312f(3) BGB).

Our refund rule

Independently of the statutory right of withdrawal, one simple, technically enforced rule applies at CANTA:

  • As long as not a single credit from a purchase has been used, we refund the full purchase price — on request, even after the fourteen-day withdrawal period has expired. This goodwill rule goes beyond the law and does not limit your statutory rights.
  • The first song generation from a purchase permanently closes the money refund for that purchase — exactly as announced in the checkout flow and confirmed by you there. There is no discretionary or exception path; the rule is enforced technically in our credit ledger.
  • Failed generations (technical error, timeout, rejection by the providers' content moderation) automatically return the credit to your balance. They do not create a money refund and do not reopen a refund that has already lapsed; individual failures are not individually explained (see the Terms of Service, section "Failed generations").

How to request a refund: Send an email from your CANTA account's email address to support@canta.lol with the subject "Refund". Reimbursement is made via Stripe to the original means of payment.

Your mandatory statutory rights — including the statutory remedies for defective digital products (Sections 327 et seq. BGB) — remain unaffected by this page.
